About GIRL SCOUTS

The Girl Scout Leadership Experience identifies three "keys" to leadership:

    • Discover: Girls understand themselves and their values, use their knowledge and skills to explore the world.

    • Connect: Girls care about, inspire and team with others locally and globally.

    • Take Action: girls act to make the world a better place.

All experiences in Girl Scouting incorporate the Discover, Connect and Take action keys to leadership. Girl Scout experiences are also girl-led, encourage learning by doing, and cooperative learning. These three processes prompt the fun and friendship that have always been integral to Girl Scouting.

About the Edina Service Unit

Edina Girl Scouts is run by committed adult volunteers. All positions from the Service Unit Manager, Registrar, orientation trainer, Cookie Manager, other officers, individual event coordinators, and most important of all, our troop leaders are all volunteers.

The quality of each girl's experience is directly proportional to the quality of adult leadership provided. Without dedicated, enthusiastic parent support, there can be no Edina Girl Scouts. Adult volunteers at all levels are the lifeline of the service unit and individual troops.

Even if you don't have any Girl Scouting experience, you probably still have much to offer as an adult volunteer. We urge you to take the opportunity to get involved as an adult leader within Edina Girl Scouts - not only will the girls benefit, but you will be personally rewarded with the knowledge that YOU are making a difference, one girl at a time.
