World Thinking Day

Every year on February 22, the 10 million Girl Scouts and Girl Guides around the world learn about their international sisters, do fun and educational activities based around an advocacy theme and can earn the World Thinking Day badge.

World Thinking Day 2021

There are five steps to earning your World Thinking Day award.

  1. Explore World Thinking Day (choice 2: Make World Thinking Day posters/slides only)

Countries to Explore

  1. Find out what peacebuilding means.

  2. Explore peacebuilding in Girl Scouts.

  3. Get inspired by peacebuilding.

  4. Create a peace pledge (template can be found here) and submit to events@girlscoutsedina.org.

Award Requirements

  • Choose your country to explore. You will need to create a slideshow or poster board about your chosen country. These slides and poster board photos will be shared during the virtual event on February 20th at 1:00pm. You can work as a troop or as an individual on this award. The slide or poster board of your chosen country may include:

  • Uniforms

  • Songs

  • Language

  • Foods

  • Climate/weather

  • Animals

  • Famous women

  • Famous landscapes or monuments

  • Housing

  • Games

Ideas for starting your World Thinking Day project can be found here

  • Attend the Edina Service Unit a World Thinking Day Virtual Celebration event on February 20th at 1pm.

    • This virtual event will be a brief kickoff to World Thinking Day.

    • This virtual event will complete two of the five steps required to earn the World Thinking Day Award (step 1: Explore World Thinking Day and step 3: Explore peacebuilding in Girl Scouts).

    • This waiver must be completed to attend the virtual event.
