CDOS volunteer sub-committee positions

Activities/task chair: AVAILABLE. Coordinates the distribution of troops among the three tasks on the CDOS. Works with the CTAP coordinator to verify number of CDOS participants and distribute the activities among troops accordingly.

Bag removal/transportation chair: AVAILABLE. Responsible for coordinating bag removal and delivery to the designated compost site on the CDOS.

Celebration chair:  AVAILABLE.  Coordinates the post-event celebration logistics, including promotion of the event (with publicity chair assistance), food, entertainment, etc.

Evaluation chair: AVAILABLE. Organizes and implements the evaluation process as determined by River Valleys and the service unit. Ensures that each troop completes and submits the event evaluation to receive their CDOS patch. This is done at the completion of the event. 

Publicity/PR chair: AVAILABLE. Creates and sends press releases and other news articles to local newspapers to promote the CDOS in their communities. Work with Tammy on social media (Facebook, blog, etc) to get the word out about our project. Work with celebration chair on promotion of the event.

Registration chair:  AVAILABLE. . Oversees pre-event registration process to ensure all troops are registered for the CDOS. Manages and assists with event day check-in, ensuring troops are accounted for and receive necessary information.

Supplies chairAVAILABLE. Coordinates the distribution of service unit supplies among troops to ensure all participating troops have enough supplies for cleanup, residential education and storm drain marking. (Most of the materials will be supplied by River Valley Girl Scouts)

Note: Each sub-committee chair reports to Linda throughout the planning and implementation phases of the project.   Linda  will guide you in the direction you need to go with all the information River Valley has provided. Roles and responsibilities of sub-committees may change as planning proceeds. Each committee will also need additional volunteers to help with tasks in planning and on the day of service. If you cannot lead a sub-committee, but are able to help with one, please let me know. Every little bit helps!

To register your girl scout troop for the Centennial Day of Service on October 13,  2012, you can register right after you complete the Early Bird registration by following the links they provide,

or go to:

>First Time Users, Register
>Returning Users, Log in

Once logged in, click on:
>Troop Management (on the left side of the page)

Register your troop for Centennial Day of Service by:
>checking their names (and leaders)
>selecting "Purchase or Register for..." in the "Action" drop down menu
>selecting Program Activities and Events (on the left side of the page)
>click "Centennial Day of Service" (green words in the middle of the page)
>scroll to bottom & click "Add to Cart"
>click "Shopping Cart" (on the left side of the page)
>ensure you have everyone in the shopping cart
>click "Check Out" (on bottom; don't worry about St.Paul ship to address)
>click process order
>log out

BONUS! If you register for early-bird membership and the Centennial Day of Service by June 22, 2012 your troop will be entered into a drawing to win one of forty eight $100 vouchers to be used at River Valleys programs or properties. Note: there will be 12 vouchers offered per region and each are valid October 1, 2012-September 30, 2013.
