posted Jun 8, 2012, 4:06 PM by linda.lutgen@girlscoutsedina.org
Happy Summer Girl Scout Leaders,

I hope your girl scout year was an eventful one.   We had some amazing girl scout events at the Edina level, did your girls get to experience the power of a girl scout community larger than just your troop?   Some local events...  Roller Garden, Mystery Bus, a school level Cookie Rally or Leader night out, the cookie program, the sock hop, YMCA Late Night or the YMCA Lock In, Encampment or the Mini Encampment to the upcoming 4th of July Parade (sign up now)....

Before you close your year out for girl scouts, please take time to complete your end of the year leader to do list.   All headings are active links.
  1. Troop Status Report
    • Thank you to all who filled this out.     If you have not done so, please do within the next week.  This status report becomes our formal leader list at the service unit level.    We know that the contact people in some troops change year to year.
  2. Troop Finance Reports
    • These are due in June with a COPY of your MAY bank statement.
    • Note from our treasurer :
    • Collectively Edina troops earned almost $40,000.00 from cookie sales this year.  In order for us to maintain our non-profit status each troop needs to complete the Troop Status Report and turn it in by 6/30/2012.
    • Have your troop treasurer fill out the report to the best of their ability and if needed, create a "Misc" category for any unexplained expenses.  Troops with a balance of over $500.00 need to specify how they intend to spend that money.
    • Please send your Troop Finance Report  along with a copy of your May bank statement by 6/30/2012 to :treasurer@girlscoutsedina.org
    • You can download forms at www.girlscoutsedina.org/home/leaders
  3. Register your troop online by 6/22/2012:
    • Every girl and adult who registers for the 2013 Girl Scout membership year by the June 22, 2012 deadline will receive an “Early Bird 2013” wood duck patch. Troops may register with one adult by June 22 to qualify for the incentive, but must register with a minimum of two adults by the on-time registration deadline of September 30, 2012.
    • Take advantage of Early Registration to both register for membership for 2013 and to register to participate in the Centennial Day of Service [CDOS] on October 13, 2012.   Incentives are available if a troop completes these two criteria:\
      1. At least one adult plus 50% of girls in a troop re-register during early bird registration.
      2. Troops complete early bird registration and Centennial Day of Service registration prior to June 22.
    • When a troop completes the above criteria, they will qualify to be entered into a regional drawing for one of 12 $100 gift certificates that a troop can redeem toward program events or property rental. There will be 12 $100 certificates awarded per region. (Southeast, Southwest, Northeast, Northwest)
